Welcome!
Vladimir, I´ll be back!
"On the first part of the journey,
I was looking at all the life.
There were plants and birds. and rocks and things,
There was sand and hills and rings.
The first thing I met, was a fly with a buzz,
And the sky, with no clouds.
The heat was hot, and the ground was dry,
But the air was full of sound.
After two days, in the desert sun,
My skin began to turn red.
After three days, in the desert fun,
I was looking at a river bed. "

Vladimir, I´ll be back! is a multi-artistic work for three performers and a visitor who enters the stage in the end of the performance. The visitor is a surprise to the audience who is not told of it beforehand. The performance combines movement, theatricality and music.
Vladimir, I´ll be back! is a seriously self-ironic performance about strangers, people who are in the middle of a bizarre situation which makes them foreign. The performance has started when audience comes in. A person is dancing. There are a bunch of furs and fur hats on stage. Lights are simple and low. The performance goes on. In the corner stands a christmas tree. Wind is blowing. A drunken person is trying to tell something. Lovers lye under a cover. A visitor with skis enters. At some point it is the time for a final song. A toy bird is flying. The atmosphere in the piece is strong and it travels through silly and serious, cool and rube, global and national. The atmosphere is influenced by the movies of Aki Kaurismäki. His black humour and the dry and simple expression of acters has strongly inspired the PoroCollective.
The movement material combines fallings, travelling through the space up and down to the floor level and work of different energies. The shape is created by the energy of the movement. The material is explosive, animalistic and rough but still controlled.
Parts of the movement material is inspired by dances of the Russian soldiers and martial arts movements.
Riina Kalmi and PoroCollective Band are playing live on stage. Music genre is mostly folk rock but it is colored by Slavoinic melancholy. Music is selected to support the atmosphere of the performance but also work as a entity, as an acoustic gig. All the songs are previously released and made by different artists, like Phil Phillips and Ryan Kickland. Vladimir, I´ll be back! features songs like ”Sea of love”, ”Horse with no name” and ”Homesick”. Sound and music is performed and played by performers on stag
